The Law Office of Christi James LLC is a solo practitioner law firm. Attorney Christi James provides legal assistance to clients throughout the Middle Georgia area during their most difficult times, whether they suffer physical injury or emotional loss.
Her law practice is dedicated to all aspects of domestic relations/family law, including adoptions, contested and uncontested divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, legitimation and paternity, and contempt cases. Ms. James handles many aspects of probate and estates law, as well, including setting up and administering estates, probating wills, and assisting clients in petitioning for guardianships of adults and minors, as well as conservatorships of adults and minors. Additionally, Ms. James enjoys helping clients navigate the legal systems following a personal injury and worker’s compensation accidents on the job.

Ms. James was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2002, and is admitted to practice in United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia.
Ms. James’ current practice is evenly divided between handling all manner of domestic relations cases, workers’ compensation cases and personal injury cases, to include cases involving automobile accidents, premises liability, workplace injuries and deaths, and wrongful death negligence claims. She also handles claims before the Social Security Administration.
Ms. James’s professional involvement includes membership in the State Bar of Georgia, the Macon Bar Association, and most recently, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Ms. James is also an active leader in her community. She is a graduate member of the Leadership Georgia Program Class of 2019 and was part of the Leadership Macon Class of 2004. Ms. James was selected as one of Macon Magazine’s Top 5 under 40 Young Leaders in 2012. Currently, she serves as Secretary of the Executive Board for the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon, a position held since 2008, and is the present Board Chair of the Children’s Center at Mulberry, a member of the Staff-Parrish Relations Committee, and a youth Sunday school teacher with Mulberry Street United Methodist Church.
Ms. James enjoys practicing and teaching yoga and Pilates in her spare time. But above all, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Baxter, and attending the many extra-curricular activities of their four boys, Stebin, Sanford, Baxter III and Sherwood.
